ANNUAL EVENTS IN COPPERAS COVE
Rabbit Fest
The third week-end in May, Copperas Cove celebrates Rabbit Fest with a parade, live entertainment, a golf tournament, a carnival, a rousing performance of its traditional mounted charge from the army's 1st Cavalry horse detachment, and a multitude of crafts and food vendors.
Ogletree Gap Heritage Festival
The third week-end in October the city's original town site comes to life with Civil War reenactments by Alpha Company of the Fightin 6th Cavalry, demonstrations of pioneer life including horseshoeing, spinning, weaving, candle-making, jerky-making, pony rides, petting zoo, storytelling, eating contest, folk dancers, gunfighter shootouts, barbecue cook-off, and a beard growing contest.
Krist Kindl Markt
The first weekend in December this German inspired open air Christmas market is sponsored by the Downtown Association. The fun starts with a parade, live music and dance performances by local groups. Art and crafts and food vendors will be abundance as the spirit of Christmas fills the downtown area.
The Five Hills Ride
The mid part of January the annual bicycle tour is underway. It features five routes that show off all our scenic beauty and provides the challenge of our hilly terrain for riders of all ages and fitness levels.
